Who this is about
stillPUB is built and maintained by Parallax Intelligence Partnership. This policy covers the stillPUB website at stillpub.com and the stillPUB app at stillpub.com/app/.
Your documents are processed in your browser
When you open a .pub file, everything happens inside your browser on your own computer: reading the file, editing it, and exporting a PDF. The file is not sent to us, and there is no server that receives, stores, or scans it. We cannot see your documents, so we cannot share, sell, or lose them. This holds whether or not you use the optional AI session described further down: that feature never routes anything through us either.
We do not collect personal information
- There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no email address is requested to use stillPUB.
- There are no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers on this site or in the app. The only scripts either one loads come from stillpub.com itself.
- This site sets no cookies.
- No fonts, styles, scripts, or images are loaded from another company's servers, so no outside party learns that you visited.
What your browser stores on your device
The app keeps a small amount of data in your own browser so it can pick up where you left off. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- Autosave draft. The document you are working on is written to your browser's local storage, so a crash or an accidental tab close does not cost you your work.
- Recent and pinned documents. A short list of documents you have opened or saved, held in the browser's IndexedDB. Where the browser supports it, this list includes a handle that lets you reopen a file after the browser asks your permission again.
- Your theme preference. Whether you chose light, dark, or your system setting, on this site and in the app.
- An offline copy of the app. The app registers a service worker that caches its own program files so it keeps working without a connection. Your documents are not part of that cache.
You can remove all of it at any time by clearing site data for stillpub.com in your browser settings. Browsing in a private window keeps none of it after you close the window.
What the AI session does
stillPUB has an optional feature called an AI session. It is off by default, it is not part of opening, editing, saving, or exporting a document, and you never have to touch it. Nothing below happens unless you deliberately turn it on.
- You start it. You run the stillPUB command line tool on your own computer, open the AI session dialog in the app, and paste the session key that tool prints. Without that key nothing can connect.
- The link itself is local. The app will only connect to an address on this computer, and it refuses any other address. Nothing about the document travels over the internet on that hop, and none of it reaches us.
- The agent you connect gets your document. Once connected, the agent on the other end can read the text of the document you have open, its structure and formatting, its title, and pictures of its pages, and it can make changes you will see happen on screen.
- What that agent then does is outside stillPUB. The agent is a separate program you chose. Many AI agents work by sending what they read to a cloud AI service run by their own provider. If yours does, your document content goes there, under that provider's privacy policy and terms, not ours. We have no way to see, control, or limit it.
- Disconnecting stops all of it. Closing the session, closing the tab, or stopping the command line tool ends the connection immediately, and the agent has no further access. stillPUB keeps no record of the session.
The short way to think about it: connecting an agent is like handing that agent your document. Only connect agents you are willing to show it to, and check the privacy policy of whoever provides that agent.
What the web server records
Pages and program files are delivered by an ordinary web server, and it keeps standard access logs. A log line records the requesting IP address, the date and time, the address requested, the response status and size, the referring page if the browser sends one, and the browser's user agent string. These logs exist to keep the site running and to deal with abuse. They are kept only as long as routine operation needs them and are removed through normal log rotation. They are not used to build a profile of you, they are not sold, and they are not shared with anyone except where the law requires it.
Your .pub files never appear in those logs. The server only ever sees requests for the site's own pages, styles, scripts, and fonts.
Links to other sites
This site links to parallaxintelligence.ai, the site of the company that builds stillPUB. Once you follow a link away from stillpub.com, that site's own privacy practices apply.
Children
stillPUB is a document tool for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included, because it does not collect personal information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. If a change ever means stillPUB starts collecting something it does not collect today, that will be stated plainly here rather than buried.
