The template
Sunday Bulletin is a four-page half-letter (5.5 by 8.5 inch) booklet: a welcome cover, the order of worship, prayer and care, and announcements. Every heading and paragraph is a text box you can retype. The other church templates are a Church Directory (cover plus a two-column member listing with photo placeholders) and a Program Booklet for weddings, funerals and special services.
- Open the app and click the Sunday Bulletin card.
- Click into each text box and replace the placeholder text. Add your logo with Insert, Add image.
- Save it once as .stillpub. That file is now your master.
- Each week: open the master, change the date, hymns and announcements, then File, Export PDF.
Keeping the bulletin you already have
If your bulletin has lived in a .pub file for years, you do not need to start over. Open the .pub file in stillPUB. Text boxes, pictures, shapes and the page layout come across. Read the conversion report: it names anything that did not, most often a decorative WordArt title or a font that only ships with Office. Fix those once, save as .stillpub, and carry on with the weekly routine above. The original .pub file is not changed, so nothing is lost by trying.
The step-by-step is on how to open a .pub file without Publisher, and the reason this matters by October is on what happens in October 2026.
Getting it to people
- The pews. Export PDF, then print two-sided with the booklet option in your PDF viewer or on the copier. Half-letter pages pair up on a letter sheet.
- Email. The same PDF. Fonts are embedded, so it looks right on every phone.
- The website and Facebook. File, Export page images, JPG at 150 dpi. One image per page, or all pages in a ZIP.
Names, addresses and the reason "local" matters
A bulletin carries prayer requests, hospital visits and members' names. A directory carries addresses and phone numbers. Everything stillPUB does with those documents happens in the browser on the church computer. There is no upload, no account, and no copy on our side. That is a design decision, not a promise we have to keep by policy; the privacy policy explains it.
Volunteers and handovers
Bulletin duty rotates. A .stillpub master in a shared folder plus the address stillpub.com/app is the whole handover: nothing to install, nothing to license, no login to pass on. The app works offline once it has been opened once on a computer, and it can be installed from the start screen so it sits on the desktop like Publisher did.
