Why churches and schools are searching for this
Most church and school newsletters were built in Publisher, sometimes a decade ago, by a volunteer who has since moved on. With Publisher retiring in October 2026, the search that used to be "how do I fix this text box" is turning into "what do we use now." The honest answer is not always another subscription. A browser tab is often enough.
Bulletins and newsletters
stillPUB ships two templates for this exact use. The Sunday Bulletin is a four-page half-letter booklet for the order of worship, prayer requests and announcements. The Newsletter template is a two-page masthead-and-columns layout that suits a PTA update, a club newsletter or a monthly office letter equally well. Both open from the start screen, save as a reusable .stillpub master, and export PDF, JPG or PNG.
If your newsletter is already a .pub file
Nothing has to be rebuilt from scratch. Open the existing .pub file in stillPUB, check the conversion report for anything that needs a fix, and save it as .stillpub. From then on that file is the master, and it does not depend on Publisher or on whoever installed it. The full steps are on how to open a .pub file without Publisher.
No account, no subscription, no upload
A church or school newsletter often carries names, addresses, photos of children, or prayer requests, and none of that belongs on someone else's server by default. stillPUB does not ask for an account, does not track usage, and does not upload the document: the file is opened, edited and exported entirely on the computer in front of you. The privacy policy explains this in more detail, and the same design applies to bulletins, directories and program booklets.
What stillPUB does not do
It does not send the finished newsletter by email itself; export the PDF or images and send them through whatever email or website tool your church or school already uses. It does include a Mailings tab for merging a CSV or Excel member list into address labels or personalized copies. It also does not save back to .pub; editable saves are .stillpub.
