What you can edit
- Text. Click into any text box and type. Change fonts, sizes, bold, italic, color, alignment, spacing, lists. Find text across the document.
- Pictures. Replace a picture, add a new one from your computer, move and resize it.
- Shapes and lines. Fills, outlines, shadows, rotation.
- Arrangement. Drag with snapping to guides and other objects, nudge with the arrow keys in Publisher's increments, align and distribute, bring forward and send back.
- Pages. Add, duplicate and delete pages. Page thumbnails sit on the left where Publisher kept them.
- Undo. Everything, all the way back.
The toolbar is tabbed (File, Home, Insert, Page, View) and grouped the way a Publisher user expects. It is not a copy of Publisher; the point is that your hands know where to go. More features exist than are listed here; the app is the authoritative list.
Saving your work
stillPUB does not write Publisher files, so it saves an editable copy as a .stillpub file. It is a plain document with the pictures inside it. Open it next week, next year, and everything is still editable. Your original .pub file is left untouched on disk.
For everything else there is export: PDF with embedded fonts for print, JPG or PNG per page at 96, 150 or 300 dpi for web and email, and plain Print.
What "online" means here
The app is delivered from stillpub.com like any web page. After that, every operation (reading the .pub file, drawing it, editing, exporting) runs inside your browser. There is no upload button, no account, no document storage on our side. The browser remembers your unsaved work locally so a closed tab is not a lost afternoon. The privacy policy spells out the one optional exception, an AI session you have to start yourself.
The recurring document
Most people editing a .pub file are editing the same .pub file every week: the bulletin, the newsletter, the menu. The workflow that works is: open the .pub once, save it as .stillpub, and from then on open the .stillpub, change this week's details, export the PDF. The church bulletin guide walks through a weekly cycle.
